Motor Oil Sample & Salesman Bottles

Another interesting type of vintage oil container to collect is the sample or saleman type bottles. These bottles are often found in a small clear glass bottle or tube that allows the salesmen to showcase the various grades and qualities of one's petroleum products.

Here is a neat 1922 Illinois Glass Company advertisement for their sample oil bottles. As you can see, this type of bottle was available in 2oz., 4 oz., and 8 oz. sizes.
